Hi Peeps! I must say that I am very happy that warmer weather has been coming our way in Michigan. I have spent quite a bit of time outdoors with the girls while they draw with chalk in the driveway and I play with furniture. I have come across so many wonderful pieces of furniture, such as dressers, and beds that it is now official – I can no longer fit a car in the garage! It is becoming packed with so many goodies! Fortunately (or unfortunately – depending how you look at it) I am finding gems faster than I can ‘polish’ them. I simply LOVE this work, the amazing people I come across, and hope that it continues to go well. Before I finish on this topic, I must say that this work has given me opportunity to really witness how many good people there are out there. Here is one of the latest projects…
Now for some updates. You may remember me mentioning in the previous post that some people were beginning to hoard certain light bulbs due to possible discontinuations related to new energy laws. My interest perked over some pink light bulbs that might face extinction and so I thought to place an order and try them out. Well…you may be disappointed, but I wasn’t really impressed. I am a GE Reveal light bulb girl and I think these still have the prettiest emitted light. The pink light bulbs do have a beautiful color and glow but appear to be quite altered especially behind a lampshade (my Reveal lights look good anywhere!). The lampshade I have is light cream in color and with the light bulb in place it gives off almost a yellowish hue. Don’t think I will be ordering any additional ones.
The final update is giving me some minor heartburn and hope it resolves itself soon. My long awaited fabric for my sofa re-upholster finally came a few weeks ago. I started loading the unopened package in my car so that I could deliver it along with my sofa to my re-upholstery guy. Something told me that I better open the package and just make sure everything was good. Such disappointment overcame me when I unrolled the fabric – the color was off. I thought I might be ‘seeing’ things and brought out the sample I was provided. But upon further investigation, it not only had a strange olive hue to the color, the backing was different, and the fabric delivered had a line pattern in it that my sample does not. I’ve since returned the fabric and received a full refund. No explanation was really given just that the suppliers sometimes make changes. Ugh… the hunt for fabric starts all over again.
